The 100th edition of the oldest event on the FIM calendar, first held in 1913 in Britain’s Lake District. It is a nations contest rather than an individual one: countries field World Trophy, Junior World Trophy and Women’s World Trophy teams, alongside club teams. Around 500 riders from more than 30 nations are expected, covering roughly 1,500 km of Alentejo cork forest and coastal terrain over six consecutive days, servicing their own machines. Portugal hosts for the fourth time. The official site shows 8–17 October, but the first days appear to be registration and technical checks — the breakdown is unconfirmed (competition runs 12–17 October).
